What is life?
The answer depends on how well we live it.
To live well is not to be free from diseases alone. It is not about gaining material wealth either. To live well is to have Balance and Harmony. Balance in our body, in its state and functions. Harmony in our interactions, with our soul, senses and mind.
Why are Balance and Harmony important?
Modern life is fast. Too fast for us to keep our own well-being in our minds at all times. We tend to forget how our body and mind work and what is good and what is bad for us. We slowly lose our harmony and eventually go out of balance. We know that our body is a self-correcting mechanism. But most often, by the time we realize there is something wrong, we are too sick for our innate strength to heal us.
So how can we maintain the Balance and avoid losing the Harmony?
First, we should learn to feel the changes in our surroundings, give attention to what our senses pick up and make note of how we are reacting to these senses. This is important because this is how we, as a part of this universe, interact with it. This sensation and response to our surroundings, both within us and in our environment, decide how well we adapt and remain healthy.
The next step is to identify what is good and what is bad for us. The tricky part is, we may enjoy things that are bad for us and dislike those that may actually be beneficial. So, we have to be true to ourselves when we are working this out.
Now, with these two routine evaluations, we should be able to recognize what is ‘normal’ and also catch hold of an illness as early as we can. This will help us not only to remain healthy longer but also to manage an illness in a most suitable way.
But how can we do all this ourselves?
Not to worry. There is a friend who can help. A friend who has been around for so long to know what is good and bad for you. Someone who knows how to make things right with your health. A friend whom you can trust with your life. A friend called Ayurveda.

During our lifetime, we are expected to pursue some moral, material or spiritual duties. But when we fall ill, we become less efficient and unhappy in performing them. A strong desire to survive and lead a healthy life itself is the most essential for our wellness. So if you have this desire and wish to pursue your life goals and dreams, you must befriend Ayurveda.
